We are in April 2022 and Arjun Erigaisi had already won 4 tournaments in the year. He won the Tata Steel Challengers, MPL National Championship, Bangladesh Chess League and Delhi GM 2022. It was time for his 5th title. Arjun won the MPL Indian chess Tour with a score of 30/45. We speak to the youngster after the victory and ask him about his favourite game from the event. He shows us not one, but two games - his wins over P. Iniyan and Abhijeet Gupta.
After watching some breathtaking analysis from the youngster we ask him about the situation with sponsors and whether he has found one. To which Arjun gave a great answer. "I am not thinking about it, I just want to make good moves." The boy's aim is reaching 2700 this year. He is currently 2676 and his next events are the Fagernes Open in Norway and the Sigeman Cup in Sweden.
