Ark of Charon is a new game that combines colony simulation and tower defense elements. It is being developed by SUNSOFT and Angoo Inc. and is scheduled for release on Steam in 2024.
In the game, players take on the role of a caretaker guiding a giant, beast-like sapling of a World Tree to its nursery. Players must construct a fortified mobile fortress on the tree's back, gathering resources and building defenses to protect the sapling from relentless monster attacks during the journey.
Key features of Ark of Charon include:
Fighting back against monsters by constructing various weapons and defenses
Gathering resources like materials and food to support the colony
Building efficient structures and facilities on the limited space atop the sapling
Embarking on a journey to the tree's nursery, planning routes and destinations
Unlocking ancient technologies and relics to create more powerful capabilities
An early access version of Ark of Charon is scheduled to launch on Steam on July 9, 2024, with subtitles in multiple languages. A free demo will also be available starting May 30, 2024 in preparation for the Steam Next Fest event .
