[Arknights] Core Operator: Reed the Flame Shadow | The Best Pseudocaster in the Game!
10Reed alter, a six star Incantation Medic, which is the embodiment of the meme, "I'm a healer, but..." For real though, she is probably the best pseudocaster that is currently release this year!!! She may be overshadowed by the upcoming limited banners, but I highly recommend looking at her kit.
Similar to HibiAlt, Reed alter should be considered as a core caster, chain caster, aoe caster, and a healer all at the same time. This is due to how her skills and talent works. Let me first talk about her S3 due to it being flashy and making my monkey brain go oongga bongga.
Her S3 makes her becoming a chain caster if used correctly. When an enemy under her debuff dies, the same debuff can chain to another enemy. The number of these debuff and explosion are limitless, and this is why when low res enemies are align correctly, Reed can annihilate them even if they are outside of her range! However there is a huge downside, it only works best if she is dealing with low to mid-high res enemies and also if they are clustered together. Nevertheless, it is still a good skill to M3.
Her S2 is where is shines the most, as it is synergized well with operators that lower the enemies resistance (Surtr's talent & Texas Alter's S2), as the operators that will gain her buff will also copy her trait (This includes the arts fragility, decrease of atk, and heal). Hence, a lot of guides recommend you prioritized her S2 instead of S3 as it is a great CC skill and melting boss (see the Patriot's part).
Reed alter is an over all good and amazing operator! It is quite sad that a lot of people skipped her banner due to the upcoming limited banner (which I kinda understand why). The good thing is that she'd not limited, so she might spooked you in the future banner or you have a chance to pull for her on a standard banner.
Overall, is she a good operator? Absolutely, in terms of general content, you can rely on her a lot. Either by finishing a crowd of enemies, or by melting bosses!
