When a Russian cyber-attack allows them to gain control over German military telecommunications infrastructure, a German KSK batallion are fed false orders to arrest two American military scientists who are close to deciphering Russian nuclear passcodes. They are ordered to deliver them to a black-site where undercover Russian agents posing as NATO officials, will take over the two military scientists and quietly transfer them to Russia to prevent a foreign power from gaining control over Russia's nuclear programme.
With insufficient time to re-establish fend off the Russian cyberattack and re-establish communications with the KSK batallion, the CIA reaches out to Ukrainian intelligence (who are conveniently not in NATO) and requests them to launch a rescue operation using their foreign legion fighters to mask Ukrainian involvement.
