Armor Stats Need To Evolve - Enhancing The RPG Aspect Of Destiny 2
4,045Ever since Bungie split from Activision in the beginning of 2019, they have been working tirelessly to make Destiny 2 into a true MMORPG. On the MMO front, Bungie has made some huge strides towards that goal. Seasonal content has been progressing quite nicely since the Undying days, the week-to-week storytelling has become one of Destiny’s greatest strengths, and endgame content updates are getting better and more regular than ever. And ever since Shadowkeep, we’ve had Armor 2.0 to let use truly min-max our armor stats, a process that can take hundreds or thousands of hours to acquire the perfect set of armor to maximize your build potential. However, there is a large problem with the current system, as there are two stats that completely overshadow the other armor stats: Recovery and Intellect. Recovery is the only stat that grants exponentially more benefits as you go to the highest stat tiers, and Supers in Destiny 2 are so powerful and impactful that doing everything possible to reduce it’s cooldown time is the optimal strategy, in both PvP and PvE. It’s time for the other armor stats to become as impactful as Recovery and Intellect.
In this video, I’m going to explain how I would rework the game’s Armor Stats to enhance it’s RPG elements. We’re going to discuss how Mobility and Resilience can be updated to make players become either a speed demon or a true tank, and we will then discuss how Intellect can be reworked to put an end to super cheesing inside PvP and how Strength can be enhanced to make it a more desirable stat for endgame PvE content.
