Armored Core Nexus Changed Everything... Literally.
Ever since Armored Core 2, FromSoftware have seemingly not known what direction to take the Armored Core franchise in. They had this perfect formula going for a while there with an equal emphasis on the story campaign and the Arena. Then with Another Age they abandoned that to make a 100 mission expansion, completely foregoing the Arena. Then, with Armored Core 3, they went back to having an equal emphasis on both components. Only to undo that with Silent Line, keeping the Arena in the game this time, but placing a much heavier emphasis on the campaign than it. So when making their newest entry, Armored Core Nexus, how did they decide to structure the game, and how did it work out? Well, let’s talk about it.
