His Majesty the King has begun his first Royal Week in Scotland as monarch.

King Charles took part in the Ceremony of the Keys at Holyrood Palace while a 21-gun salute was fired by British Army personnel at Edinburgh Castle.

Soldiers spoke of their pride in being involved, with one telling Forces News it was an "incredible experience" and "quite special".
