숨겨진 적 병기를 포착하고 정밀 포격으로 격파해나가는 턴제 전략 게임입니다. 마치 해전 게임처럼 보일 수도 있지만, 다양한 스킬과 전술 업그레이드를 통해 점점 더 복잡하고 전략적인 플레이가 펼쳐지죠.
게임은 먼저 자신의 병기를 배치하고, 전투가 시작되면 적이 숨어 있을 법한 위치를 추측해 포격을 가하는 방식으로 진행됩니다. 빈 타일이라면 정보만 얻고 끝이지만, 주변에 적 병기가 있다면 붉은 레이더 이펙트가 발생해 탐지 힌트를 제공합니다. 적중 시에는 적 병기가 드러나거나 파괴되며, 전세를 유리하게 이끌 수 있죠. 포격이 끝나면 턴이 교대되며, 상대도 같은 방식으로 플레이어의 병기를 노립니다.
모든 아군 병기가 파괴되면 게임 오버, 반대로 적 병기를 모두 없애면 승리입니다. 승리 시 획득한 보상은 병기 구입이나 기술 업그레이드에 사용됩니다. 병기고에서 다양한 무기와 기술이 캠페인 진행에 따라 해금되며, 각 기술은 사용 횟수 증가 또는 효과 강화 중 하나로 업그레이드가 가능합니다.
전투 중에는 한 턴에 하나의 특수 기술만 사용할 수 있으며, 탐지용 레이더, 다중 타일 포격, 랜덤 포격 등 전술적 옵션도 다양합니다. 보조 스테이지나 일회성 이벤트를 통해 새로운 병기와 기술을 체험해보고, 무료 업그레이드를 받는 기회도 마련되어 있죠.

Artillerists is a tactical turn-based game where you track down and destroy hidden enemy weapons through precise artillery strikes. What starts as a simple guessing game quickly evolves into a strategic challenge, fueled by powerful skills and tech upgrades.
You begin each battle by placing your own artillery units, then select grid coordinates where you suspect enemy weapons might be hidden. If you miss, the tile simply reveals itself—but if enemy units are nearby, a red radar pulse provides crucial intel. A direct hit reveals or destroys enemy hardware, shifting momentum in your favor. Turns alternate as each side launches their attacks, trying to outguess the other.
Destroy all enemy units to win, or lose if your own are wiped out. Victories reward you with funds to buy new weapons or upgrade existing tech. As you progress, you'll unlock more powerful artillery types and support abilities, each of which can be upgraded in two distinct ways: increased usage or improved effects.
Combat supports one skill per turn, ranging from radar scans and area-of-effect strikes to random tile bombardments and multi-shot barrages. Optional missions and side events offer chances to test skills and earn free upgrades, while acquiring factories provides passive income.
Once past the early grind, Artillerists reveals a deep, satisfying game of cat-and-mouse strategy. Pinpointing enemy locations and unleashing devastating strikes delivers a sharp thrill, though the lack of fast-forward, repetitive dialogue, and some UI quirks (like ESC toggling fullscreen) can slow the pace.
Still, with every upgraded skill and each lucky shot, the battlefield becomes more dynamic and rewarding—making Artillerists a compelling choice for fans of tactical deduction and hidden-object warfare.
