[AS2R] Aqua Lake Act 1 Level Design Showcase - Another Sonic 2 Remake
12The last level as part of the SAGE 2022 Demo that I plan on showing off, as I would like Act 2 to remain a special surprise for those who reach it. It took a little more time to build this level as the original didn't have much going for it in terms of gimmicks beyond the bubble rise and the water itself, so I had to make a few more objects for the level. Yes, this level can be completed without going underwater, as this level is inspired by the original layout of all 3 original acts (for those who know the original secrets, I hope you appreciate one small change). Some of the additions made include new underwater specific animations for Sonic. I hope you like them. The look of the level was inspired by a remix made by Alec Taylor Music, I really appreciate the effort you put into the master, the boss remix and other audio enhancements I requested. I hope that by SAGE, the music muffler I made will be fully working!
This level will certainly change beyond the SAGE demo, as I would like to give the boss a nice scripted event before the actual fight, kinda like the angle island bombing. I know he is incredibly simple, IF you know how to defeat him, but the point is to teach the player a mechanic they may not have know about otherwise. This is why I would like eventually add a prelude to his fight. However things like this will have to wait until I'm a bit better at understanding Surgescript.
My list of things to do is getting smaller by the week! 3 weeks to go!
