Ashen is a Souls-Like RPG with something of an Open World. The landscape starts off more open that you would expect from Dark Souls, and whereas this doesn't mean it's better, it is interesting. Now the combat isn't as tight and fine tuned as Dark Souls of course, but it's is still a fun way to scratch that Souls itch and does well it trying to stand out. It allows for easier jumping and climbing to further reward exploration.
