Ashina Castle Redone Let's Play Sekiro Shadows Die Twice Part 23
My first playthrough of Sekiro Shadows Die Twice.
Sekiro is the latest souls-like by From Software, makers of the Dark Souls games and Bloodborne. It takes place in an analogue for sengoku era Japan. You play as a maimed Shinobi in service to a young child with Dragon blood heritage and fight to protect him from others who would use his power selfishly.
The largest change in the gameplay from other souls-likes is in the combat. Stamina is no longer a thing, you can sprint, dodge, and attack without any need for stamina management. Instead the game has a new resource called posture. Your posture decreases when you block or deflect an attack and when exhausted you can no longer block. Enemies also have a posture gauge and the goal of combat is often to parry/deflect their attacks in sequence until they posture break and you can deathblow/visceral attack them. Posture regenerates based on current health, so you often cannot posture break an enemy until you've chipped away half or more of it's health.
Please let me know any thoughts or tips for playing this game, or anything more you'd like to see.
I'd also greatly appreciate any ideas or critiques of the video itself, and of my commentary of the game. Please, let me know how best to improve! Thanks!
