0Аль-Нуквод был одним из богатейших людей Палестины. В своём дворце он часто устраивал пиры, которым могли позавидовать короли и султаны; редчайшие вина и плоды из дальних земель, посуда и фонтаны из чистого золота. Тучный человек с уродливым лицом мог позволить себе всё, что продавалось и покупалось.
Аль-Нуквод купался в роскоши и даже не пытался скрывать своего богатства. Горожане ненавидели его, но никто не решался выступить против «короля-купца» и его сподручных нахлебников.
Зная про народное недовольство и осуждение его политики со стороны вельмож Дамаска, Аль-Нуквод решил устроить пир, дабы раз и навсегда развеять сомнения в умах подданных. Он собрал в своём дворце всех богачей и всю знать города, все славили щедрость хозяина и приветствовали его речи. А после во дворце началась настоящая «резня» – в вино и пищу был подмешан яд, а те, кто не вкусил яда - погибли от стрел лучников Нуквода.
Абу аль-Нуквод погиб от клинка Альтаира в своём собственном дворце. Перед смертью он сказал, что всего лишь пытался построить новый, лучший мир, свободный ото лжи и лести.
Al-Nukvod was one of the richest people in Palestine. In his palace, he often arranged feasts, which could be envied by kings and sultans; rare wines and fruits from distant lands, dishes and fountains of pure gold. A fat man with an ugly face could afford everything that was sold and bought.
Al-Nukvod bathed in luxury and did not even try to hide his wealth. The townspeople hated him, but no one dared to speak out against the “merchant king” and his handy parasites.
Knowing about the popular discontent and condemnation of his policies by the nobles of Damascus, Al-Nukvod decided to have a feast in order to once and for all dispel doubts in the minds of his subjects. He gathered in his palace all the rich and all the nobility of the city, all praised the master's generosity and welcomed his speeches. And then in the palace began a real "massacre" - poison was mixed into wine and food, and those who did not eat the poison died from the arrows of the archers of Nukvod.
Abu al-Nukvod died from the blade of Altair in his own palace. Before his death, he said that he was just trying to build a new, better world, free from lies and adulation.
