Действие первой игры серии происходит параллельно в 2012 и 1191 годах. В первом случае главным героем является бармен Дезмонд Майлс, похищенный учёными корпорации «Абстерго Индестриз». При помощи Анимуса они пытаются восстановить фрагмент из жизни далёкого предка Дезмонда — Альтаира ибн Ла-Ахада, ассасина, действовавшего в эпоху Крестовых походов, — чтобы получить некую необходимую им информацию.

His goal is to find out where his ancestors had hidden the “Particles of Eden”, and to get them before the Templars, and also to prevent the end of the world.
The action of the first game of the series takes place in parallel in 2012 and 1191. In the first case, the main character is bartender Desmond Miles, abducted by scientists from Abstergo Indeestriz Corporation. With the help of Animus, they are trying to reconstruct a fragment from the life of a distant ancestor of Desmond — Altair Ibn La-Ahad, an assassin who was active during the Crusade era — to get some of the information they need.
