Assassin's Creed Origins Linux benchmark - Steam Play Proton - custom HIGH settings - VkBasalt
Assassin's Creed Origins with Steam Play Proton (5.0-7), the Linux compatibility layer from Valve.
Assassin's Creed Origins best settings for stable FPS
Please note that the game is running at 900p with custom settings for a near 60fps experience on a GTX 970. The image is then enhanced via Contrast-Adaptive Sharpening to avoid blurred image using VKBasalt.
WHY 90% of 1080p?
The game is rendered at 90% that means 1821x1024 (1920x1080x0.9 gives 90% of the total pixels, then keeping the aspect ratio constant will get you a resolution of 1821x1024)
It boost the frame rate of the game allowing a near 60fps experience but shown in 1080p it makes the game looks a bit blurry ...
That's why we use VKBasalt to enhance the image via Contrast-Adaptive Sharpening.
The image is enhanced using VKBasalt CAS at value 1.0.
CAS meaning Contrast-Adaptive Sharpening the equivalent of AMD fidelity FX algorithm.
The game is running on a I7 3770 + GTX 970 (see "PC CONFIGURATION" and
"GRAPHIC SETTINGS" below for details).
Note that this video is recorded with a cheap capture card .. The video image is not the highest quality but there is no frame loss during recording.
