Assassin's Creed Unity with Steam Play Proton (5.13-4), the Linux compatibility layer from Valve.

The video shows different stages of the game such as a parkour, assassination mission ,intro real time video, synchronization points with large horizon
Actual FPS is mostly in the 50-75 FPS range except "Notre Dame" area that sometimes dips in 39-40 FPS in the streets.

The game is running on a I7 3770 + GTX 970 (see "PC CONFIGURATION" and
"GRAPHIC SETTINGS" below for details).

Note that this video is recorded with a cheap capture card .. The video image is not the highest quality but there is no frame loss during recording.

GPU: NVIDIA GTX 970 - driver: 450.80.02

TWEAKS

- Disable Ubisoft Connect/Uplay overlay
- Disable the compositor .. in KDE you can do that with SHIFT + ALT + F12
- In Nvidia control panel disable opengl settings : put "Allow Flipping" to disabled

Steam Launch Options
DXVK_HUD=fps,devinfo PROTON_NO_GLSL=1 %command%

rem PROTON_NO_GLSL option only tested with Nvidia GPU (dont' know how the effect on AMD GPU)

GRAPHIC SETTINGS
1920x1080 144Hz
Borderless mode

ENVIRONMENT HIGH
TEXTURE ULTRA HIGH
SHADOW HIGH
AMBIANT OCCLUSION SSAO
ANTI-ALIASING FXAA
BLOOM ON

The game is not exceptionally optimized on Windows .. so it is the same on Linux :)
Some tweaks in the config file could improve the performance a bit but the original flaws won't be erased ... especially in the "Notre Dame" area that for some reason gives the worst performance in the game .. Everywhere else the game can mostly run in 50-75 FPS range.

GAME CONFIG FILE TWEAKS
1. configure the game as seen in the game with GRAPHIC SETTINGS chapter above
2. Edit the ACU.ini file
the file should be under [Steam-folder]/steamapps/compatdata/289650/pfx/
see PCGamingWiki link below for details for the file location
Additions
- under [Graphics] add "MotionBlur =0"
- add a section [Performance] and add "MaxNumNPCs=80"

the part of the file should look like this (don't erase any line, just add the new lines)

[Graphics]

MotionBlur=0

[Performance]
MaxNumNPCs=80

3. make the ACU.ini file read only (to avoid it being changed by the game)
