Assault Android Cactus: A guide to beating Justice (for Beginners)
Assault Android Cactus (PC/Steam), Early Access Version 140527
WHAT IS THIS VIDEO?
This video is a guide to help you beat stage 3-5 (Justice) for the first time. It is not a guide on how to S+ him or get a high score... just to beat him. =)
I've been planning on doing these videos for a while now, because a) Justice is arguably one of the hardest stages in the game (especially if you've never beaten it before), and b) I've noticed that there don't seem to be many resources for people who just want to BEAT Justice, and don't really care about getting a high score or an S+ or any of that stuff. Anyway, I put aside some time over the past couple weeks to record these videos and complete the descriptions and strategy writeups... and now, they're finally done. =)
I used Cactus in these videos mainly because of the strength of her Flamethrower (something that's easy for any skill level to take advantage of), but a lot of the strategies can be adapted to the other characters.
Anyway, let me know (post in the comments) if this video was helpful to you or not, and in what way. The feedback will be useful if I decide to do another project like this again (it's a lot of work, though, so no promises).

INFO, TIPS, AND STRATEGY FOR SKILL LEVEL: Beginner
Main strategy (what):
1) Always attack Justice with your Flamethrower. You should only use your primary weapon if your Flamethrower completely overheats and needs to cool down.
2) Don't dodge. Yes, you read that right. =) Just keep attacking Justice until you get knocked down, and when you get knocked down, just get right back up. If you're out of Flamethrower attack range, move towards Justice, but if you're in range, just stand still and attack.
3) Always go after the battery, even if you have to get knocked down in order to grab it.
Main strategy (why):
1) Because of the amount of health Justice has, the Justice battle is kind of a race to do as much damage as possible as quickly as possible. And for most of the characters (especially Cactus, whose Flamethrower is one of the most damaging weapons in the game), the secondary weapon does a lot more damage than the primary.
2) Yes, I'm sure you can dodge better than this. =) But the advantage NOT dodging gives you is that it keeps you close to Justice (within Flamethrower range), so you won't accidentally run too far while dodging. If you feel like you can easily dodge an attack or two here or there, go ahead and do it... but as this video should show, you can get knocked down quite a lot (21 times in this video!) and still finish the stage. So if you feel like you're getting knocked down a lot, don't get discouraged, and just keep getting up and attacking with the Flamethrower after each knockdown.
3) Obviously, you're going to have a much tougher time if you miss a battery, so getting knocked down is a small price to pay. Especially since you can just get right back up and start attacking Justice with the Flamethrower again. =)
Things to practice:
a) Practice getting up quickly after getting knocked down. In order to get up as quickly as possible, I recommend using two buttons (or keys), and alternating between them, rather than just hitting one button over and over. You can use any of the following buttons/keys:
XB360 controller: A, B, LB, RB, LT, RT
Keyboard+mouse: Space, Backspace, Enter, Right-click, Left-click
b) Practice switching to and firing your secondary weapon immediately after getting up.
Other tips:
- In the first phase of the battle, don't attack Justice's front arms, or you'll do no damage (he's wearing shields on those arms). Attack his head instead (or his side or back). He gets rid of these shields at the end of Phase 1, so for Phases 2 and 3, it doesn't really matter where you attack him.
Hope that helps, and good luck!
