Assault Android Cactus: A guide to beating Justice (Low-Intermediate)
Assault Android Cactus (PC/Steam), Early Access Version 140527
(note: I hit the character limit, so I'm going to have to condense some stuff, or refer you to the video descriptions of the other videos. Sorry about that. =/ )
WHAT IS THIS VIDEO?
This video is a guide to help you beat stage 3-5 (Justice) for the first time. It is not a guide on how to S+ him or get a high score... just to beat him. =)
(see description in Beginner video for more info)
Anyway, let me know (post in the comments) if this video was helpful to you or not, and in what way. The feedback will be useful if I decide to do another project like this again (it's a lot of work, though, so no promises).

INFO, TIPS, AND STRATEGY FOR SKILL LEVEL: Low-Intermediate
The main strategy is similar to the Beginner strategy.... with the addition of some dodging, and the use of Blue Powerups (Shutdown).
Summary of the Beginner strategy: If Flamethrower is usable, use it; stay close to Justice (within Flamethrower range), even if it means getting knocked down; after each knockdown, get up as quickly as possible and then attack Justice with the Flamethrower; get the battery, even if it means getting knocked down.
Additional strategy (what):
1) Shoot some of the laser emitters for colored Powerups, but don't spend too much time doing this.
2) Ignore Red and Yellow Powerups. Only grab Blue Powerups.
Additional strategy (why):
1) The colored Powerups can be helpful in the battle, but if you spend too much time collecting them, the extra time you spend sort of negates the benefit you get from them. So in general, if an emitter is really far away, you probably shouldn't bother shooting it, because that means you'll have to go a long distance to grab it... then a long distance to get back to Flamethrower range.
2) The reason I suggest Blue (Shutdown) is because Blue is basically a guaranteed benefit. With Red and Yellow, if you grab the Powerup then immediately get knocked down (if you've played this game for a while, I'm sure this has happened to you before (it's certainly happened to me!)), you immediately lose the Powerup and basically get no benefit from it.
- On the other hand, because Blue heals you when you grab it, I think it's impossible (or at the very least, very difficult) to get knocked down immediately after grabbing it. And then after the enemies enter Shutdown, you obviously won't have to worry about them attacking you for a bit, let alone knocking you down. =)
- So after grabbing a Blue Powerup, immediately attack Justice with your Flamethrower. The damage bonus the Shutdown effect gives you will make the Flamethrower especially effective, especially if you attack from really close.
Things to practice:
From the Beginner video: Practice getting up quickly after getting knocked down (use two buttons instead of one); practice switching to and firing your secondary weapon right after getting up.
Additional:
a) Practice waiting for colored Powerups to change color. Powerups will change from Red to Yellow to Blue, then back to Red, etc. Since you'll be wanting Blue Powerups, that means if a Powerup is Yellow, you should try to stay near it, because it's about to change to Blue.
Other tips:
From the Beginner video: Don't attack Justice's front arms in Phase 1 (he's wearing shields).
Additional:
- Don't collect all of the colored Powerups in Phase 1. Try to leave one or two Powerups on the field before finishing Phase 1 and starting Phase 2. Nothing in Phase 2 will produce colored Powerups for you, so that's the only way you'll have any to use during Phase 2. As the Beginner video shows, it's not absolutely necessary, but the extra damage you can get from using a Blue Powerup definitely can help!
- In the first phase, if you can destroy the leash-globes quickly, go ahead and do that. Because if you can destroy them quickly, that should give you slightly more uninterrupted time to attack Justice with the Flamethrower (and do more damage). But if you think destroying the globes is taking too long, just let yourself get knocked down by a laser (the leash-globes will ignore you while you're down), then quickly get up and start attacking Justice with the Flamethrower.
Hope that helps, and good luck!
