So... Accelerate-only Aubergine vs. VPC4 Repeater is something I'd actually tried, quite a while back (years ago!)... but eventually had to set aside as something that was a bit too difficult. ^^;;

More recently, though, just for fun, I revisited the challenge... and apparently, my skills had improved since back then; on essentially my first run (i.e. not counting the runs where I was figuring out a decent opening strat), I managed to get a lot further than I would've been able to back then... far enough that I started wondering if an S+ might actually be possible this time! ^.^;

Long story short... it was possible. =) It did take a good amount of time... a number of strategy adjustments... and a lot of practice... but eventually, this run happened. ^_^

So here it is... my first ever Accelerate-only VPC4 Repeater S+! Technically, more than 5 years in the making, so... hope you enjoy! =)


A couple minorly interesting/amusing moments from this run:
4:39 Dealing with the reapers and battery issues in this phase kind of separated Aubergine from a cluster of gun-spiders... but fortunately (or unfortunately, depending on how you look at it!!), something like this had happened in a previous run... so this time, I was trying to keep an eye out for the screen-edge enemy indicators... and managed to notice them in time to make it back before the battery ran out, this time. =)
5:16 Oh, good, there's the battery! ...wait, where did the floor tiles go? Accelerate can't drag the battery over here without those floor tiles... ack, have to dive into the fray... whew, made it! ^.^;;

Also, apparently, this is my 200th VPC4 video, so... yay! ^_^
