Assault Android Cactus: Aubergine vs. (VPC4) Collider+ S+
Assault Android Cactus+ (PC(W,M,L)/Steam)
Version 190430s (2019 Apr 30)
Campaign+
Stage 5-4+: Collider+
4P Virtual Player Count
S+ run using Aubergine
So just for fun, I thought I'd try VPC4 Collider+... =)
Of course, the first few runs went pretty badly. =p However, a variation of the opening strategy I used for the non-VPC4 version of the level seemed to show some promise, so I worked on it a bit... and eventually got it to work fairly well. ^^ After that, it was mostly a matter of figuring out more standard VPC4 strategies for the later phases... and for that, applying lessons learned from VPC4 Collider and VPC4 Repeater definitely helped! ^^;
Anyway, after quite a number of failed attempts... this run happened! =)
So here it is... my first ever VPC4 Collider+ S+! Hope you enjoy!
Oh, an interesting "vs. Liquorice" strategy I kind of ran into by accident on this particular run is that if you whittle down the first wave of robots (during the Liquorice battle) to just one or two red birds (turbo drones), you can actually mostly ignore them and just concentrate on Liquorice (this won't work on the Normal Campaign version of Collider, however, due to the lack of red birds).
- Since the red birds intentionally try to avoid you (they don't constantly try to chase you down like pretty much every other enemy robot in the game), it's harder to hit them accidentally... and if you keep Liquorice's attention on you, she won't attack them either. And if neither of you destroys them, the next battery won't appear!
- So if your battery has more charge than Liquorice's, you can theoretically just wait her out! And if yours has less charge (like in this video), then you can just wait until you're almost empty before triggering the next battery drop. ^_^
- Of course, the fact that neither of you is destroying robots means you won't be collecting energy crystals... which means your primary is going to Level Down after a while (thus making it harder to knock Liquorice down).
- And of course, keeping the red birds safe (from both your attacks and Liquorice's attacks) becomes a lot more difficult if you're trying to keep them safe for a long period of time...
- But if the opportunity presents itself, it can be helpful to take advantage of the red birds to knock down Liquorice at least once or twice, not just to eat away more of her battery life, but also to make it more likely you can trigger the next battery drop (by destroying the red birds, and if necessary, some of the robots in the next wave) while she's down. =)
