We see how to get started: Buying equipment at the vendor merchant, building block-based structures using the build tool, terraforming the landscape, killing animals to get meat, farming to get crops, casting spells and more.
The Astral Terra alpha is in Steam Early Access and still a long way from being a full game, but the basics are there for a sandbox crafting and building experience.
