In which I play "Meteor Attack" by Nick Pears from 1984. Another simple game from this year, which appears to have been self-published. Maybe for a local Atari or computer club? That's pure speculation on my part, but it seems plausible.
The game isn't terrible. Everything about it is fairly straightforward. It's a bit too noisy, but back in the day, we would have reached out and turned down the volume knob on the TV we were sitting in front of. ;-) It is a bit difficult to control, and I think it would make a better 2 player game, as both would be playing at the same time, each controlling one of the turrets.
