Attack of the Seawolf 08: SEAL Redux (Cold Waters w/ DotMod)

Seawolf Campaign series version 3. China's saber-rattling has crashed the Asian economy, and China decided best way to sustain itself is to take over Spratly islands and its resources. US is not going to stand for that and scrambled USS Seawolf out of Guam...
-----
00:00 Start
Previously, USS Seawolf destroyed the PLAN at-sea replenishment group transiting from Cam Ranh to East China Sea. Its current mission is to run back to Guam and pick up a SEAL team to be dropped off at Yulin Naval Base, Hainan Island, PROC.
01:30 Arriving
We were able to avoid all contacts from Guam to Yulin.
With prior knowledge of the area, we again pinpointed the ships patrolling the area, and recalled the minefield location (roughly).
We snuck in when north/south patrol ship was heading south. Again, a helo dipped almost next to us after we dropped off the SEAL team, but we got away. We immediately turned 180 and started heading out, trying to get out before the patrol ship returned. However, the ship seems to have headed further west. However, it somehow detected us and started firing torpedoes. We immediately fired MOSS decoy and a torpedo, went deeper, and increased speed to 15 kt.
The ship was sunk, their torpedo never acquired us (due to our increase in speed), and we turned around the corner of the minefield and started heading out east. We changed course to south because the eastern escort decided to head this way (probably due to earlier detection), but we gained enough room to disengage, and we did.
COMSUBPAC is pleased.
NEW PRIORITY MISSION: Stop Russian surface task force, deploying to Cam Ranh.
With only 6 torpedoes and no decoy onboard, I don't feel like taking on a fleet. So we dashed for Guam for reloads, and came back out. However, as we made the dash back into South China Sea, we can see our objective is already there, and we'll be too late. And indeed, we were.
MISSION FAILED.
NEW PRIORITY MISSION: Go back to Guam, pick up ANOTHER SEAL team, and drop them at Yulin (3rd time).
Great, another dash across the Pacific... Back to Guam we go!
As for how I fare in the next mission... That will be in the NEXT episode. So, stay tuned!

In the hypothetical Cold Waters (DotMod) Y2000 NATO campaign, Taiwan declared independence, and Great Britain delayed returning Hong Kong to China after massive protests. China threatened retaliation, which crashed the Asian economy. Russia decided to have an arms fire sale to China... and China is buying naval assets (along with Russian "advisors") to take over the South China Sea and its resources, plus attacks on nearby countries. NATO decided to intervene... and the first response was US Navy Submarines... USS Seawolf, the most advanced predator of the oceans...
