Attempting to Fix The Walking Dead's Most Frustrating Season
Backed by Lee Everett and Clementine's ground breaking father/daughter dynamic, Telltale's The Walking Dead was once heralded as one of gaming's pioneers for the "Choices Matter" genre.
And after what seemed to be both of their ends, A New Frontier was shaping up to be a grittier newborn cousin to the season that came before it, shaking up the universe with new characters in a new setting adjacent to Macon.
But upon release all it shook up was Telltale's reputation.
After the community forced themselves to endure rushed plotlines, destructive retcons, and an empty cast starving for development, A New Frontier was instantly fancasted by the wayside rewarding Telltale with tanked sales and an extra step towards their unfortunate file for bankruptcy.
I was one of these fans and while my taste for this story has soured more over the years, it isn't only because of all the bad it caused, but also all the good that was wasted.
