An audio book of Carmilla by J. Sheridan LeFanu. Published in the 1870's, the story centers around a strange sickness infecting a rural countryside. The cause? Vampires. The writing predates Dracula, and features some romantic imagery that was very edgy for a book of its time.
The book is audio only so you can listen while falling asleep, doing other work, or listen for background noise. If you're someone who enjoys books on tape this amateur recording hopefully holds up to professional works. If you're looking for soothing background noise this may also do the trick.
