I decided to update Auto Club Revolution after having not played it for ~ a year to see where things were at, given they've been making news recently with various updates. It didn't take me long to establish that I'm still not a big fan of the service or the sim (although I have seen worse). Having to load the game and rely on Internet connection before starting each race meant horridly slow lap times. The sounds were not fun. The physics were average. Still no support for a clutch pedal (even though it supports the H shifter and makes a grinding sound when you don't use the clutch).

I also tried Race Room and gave up before even being able to enter a race.

If you're looking for a decent Free to Play sim I would recommend SimRaceWay at this point in time. Not perfect but you get a decent amount of free content to start off with, and the game UI and driving physics are good enough to make for an enjoyable experience.
