Awesomenauts is a Multiplayer Online Battle Arena and a platformer that allows you to go head to head on a 3 vs 3 battlefield. Whether together with your friends oer selected based on your experience, you can battle each other in a fight for survival.
The object of the game is to defeat the other team and destroy their turrets which will make their main base, vulnerable. Awesomenauts is a great mix of platformer and team deathmatch that has a fresh art style and fast-paced action.
The awesomenauts game allows you to choose from a variety of 'nauts (only a few are accessible from the beginning), each with their own strengths and weaknesses. Each team also sends waves of droids after the other which act as shields as you try to destroy the enemy turrets and base. You collect in-game tokens and currency so you can upgrade your character, in order to do more damage or to unlock a secondary skill.
The story of Awesomenauts is that it is the year 3587 and huge robot armies are locked in a never ending battle in the name of galactic conquest; they call upon a group of mercenaries known as the Awesomenauts!
Awesomenauts is a great competitive arena-styled platformer that is available now on Steam, Xbox Live, and Playstation Network. It is very enjoyable and addictive once you get into it, so if you haven't tried it, you are missing out on some amazing action.
You can play as several different awesomenauts as you storm the battlefield to unlock new abilities and develop diverse strategies. New awesomenauts and items are regularly added to the game.
The character I am playing as known as Sheriff Lonestar. Lonestars abilities include Dynamite and a virtual bull. Lonestar throws cigar-lit dynamite sticks at his foes which he can upgrade for bigger explosions and multiple sticks. This is the basis of lonestars primary attack, other than his blaster.
The virtual bull is great as both a defensive weapon and offensive weapon, with a bit of a higher recharge rate, it can send your enemies to the back of the screen. If upgraded enough, it can also explode to cause 30 damage to your enemies.
Lonestar can also use his simple thrusters integrated into his cowboy boots to execute double-jump in mid air, making him a versatile character.
