At this point, you can now recruit other shipgirls to your cause, they cost AP, which is obtained by winning battles either in the Story or in Extreme Battle Mode. It's recommended to recruit shipgirls as soon as possible as they will gain experience regardless of if they are are in the active fleet or not, which saves a lot of grinding if you're going for all Cheevos. Shipgirls you can recruit at this point (not including DLC) are:
Playable - Nagato (1000AP) Kaga (400AP) Akagi (500AP)
Support - Akashi (60AP) Shiranui (70AP) Shiratsuyu (50AP)
