A video demonstrating how Japanese Voice Mode works.

For this video I decided to feature Merak's stage due to the things I heard that underneath the boss' snarky and smart-ass behavior lies an incorrigible asshole. In the story the mission to locate a submarine is nothing more than a trap devised by our villain. Once Gunvolt reaches the hangar Merak starts spilling the area with water to drown our hero, not minding that his men are also within the premises.

The addition of the Japanese Voice Mode adds flavor and depth to the game's story, which is a good thing. Unfortunately the way they execute it is kind of poor. The text and image area are so big that it covers the entire bottom part of the screen. This can be difficult especially when there are spikes and bottomless pits around. In addition, they obstruct your view of the place, which may cost you to miss important items not to mention that they can be distracting.
