With the sequel just around the corner, now would be as good a time as any to finally cover this game. Known as Armed Blue Gunvolt in Japan, Azure Striker Gunvolt is a somewhat spiritual successor to Mega Man developed by Inti Creates and released in 2014 for the 3DS, and later on Steam in 2015. Unlike Mighty No. 9 though, this one is more akin to the Mega Man Zero and ZX games then Classic. In this game, we take control of Gunvolt, a special being known as an "Adept" that can control lightning. He's a part of a resistance group called Quill who are fighting against the corporation known as Sumeragi. We join Gunvolt on a mission to get rid of a music program named Lumen, who's songs are being used to control many other Adepts. But, once Gunvolt encounters said muse, his life takes a very drastic turn.

So gameplay wise, it's your typical side-scrolling platformer, but your main method of attack isn't your gun. Your gun is used to "tag" enemies in order to create focus points for your Flashfield, which is your main method of attack. Enemies can be tagged up to 3 times, the more they're tagged, the more damage they take, and multiple enemies can be tagged, but how many depends on what type of shot you're using. __
