7Welcome to Curious Expedition 2 Version 4.0 - Robots of Lux update! Curious Expedition 2 is a sequel to the hugely popular Curious Expedition with updated graphics and animation, enhanced gameplay where every decision can make or break the party and a larger focus on resource management through each individual foray into the unknown.
In this episode as we're half way through a expedition it's just a case of finding the standing stones in order to finish the map and it does seem much like a one way system which does have it advantages, but by the end sanity is wearing thin and we have run out of ways to fill it back up and stave of the madness.... but a little madness never brought anyone any harm now did it?!
So join me as we take our first tentative steps in to the unknown in Curious Expedition 2!
- Curious Expedition 2 Gameplay Overview -
Curious Expedition 2 is a turn-based narrative roguelike that requires players to manage their resources and party members to keep insanity at bay and find glory.
A grand discovery has been made: mysterious islands have begun to appear and vanish from the oceans as if by magic. The great Explorer Clubs are funding expeditions to these strange islands to bring treasures back for the 1889 World's Fair in Paris. Are you bold enough to join the adventure?
- Shores of Taishi Update -
Shores of Taishi adds a bounty of new content to the mysterious lands of Curious Expedition 2. A new island type, Celestial Shores, comes with a completely new set of tiles, a new game mechanic related to teleporting between islets and the new Peacock Tribe. Shores of Taishi will allow players to recruit six new characters to their party, including Red Panda, Tanuki, Ghost Catcher and Warrior Peacock. That’s not all: with six new enemy types, four new locations, six new pieces of equipment, seven new Sanity Items, seven new Trophies and four new levels to unlock, there’s plenty of new content to get stuck into.

- 4 new Levels to unlock at the Taishi Academy Explorer Club in Paris, giving access to 1 Recruitable character and 3 pieces of Equipment

- New island type: Highlands, with a completely new set of tiles, a new game mechanic related to traversing hills and valleys, a new tribe called the Picts and a new artwork for shrines
- 8 new Recruitables: Grail Knight, Precious Clydesdale (horse), Kobolds (3 variants: Bard, Scoundrel, Shaman), Picts islanders (3 variants: Spiritual Druid, Pictish Outrider, Tattooed Warrior)
- 4 new Enemies: Stone Golem, Kobolds, Lake Serpent, Black Wolves
- 6 new Locations: Giant Horn, Wishing Well, Pointing Statue, Wild Kobolds, Lake Serpent, Precious Clydesdale Herd
- 7 new pieces of Equipment: Pictish Spear, Pictish Crossbow, Bag Pipes, Legendary Blade, Magnifying Glass, Cuirass, Armoured Boots
- 5 new Items: Fairy Stones, Kobold Ear Wax, Stone Fragment, Bird call, Sea Monster scale
- 4 new Levels to unlock at the Royal Avalon Society Explorer Club in Paris, giving access to 1 Recruitable character and 3 pieces of Equipment
