Dr. Marsha-Gail Davis is a primary care internist and preventionist with expertise in lifestyle medicine who is committed to seeing her patients and community not only get well but stay well. She sees herself as a guide to help her patients to preserve their health over the course of their lives and avoid the unnecessary burden of preventable chronic diseases that cause significant suffering and early death, especially in communities of color where the negative impact of chronic disease is most profound. Her mission is to make prevention the priority and make prevention popular by incorporating lifestyle medicine into primary care and creative public health interventions. Originally for the island of Jamaica, she received her MD from the University of California, San Diego and completed her internal medicine residency at Yale. She is currently serving on the American College of Lifestyle Medicine Board of Directors as Young Director and is co-chair of the Health Equity Through Lifestyle Medicine (HEAL) Initiative and is a medical consultant for Big Picture Living, a student-led health initiative at Big Picture Learning.
