This is a glitch I discovered in the NES game Back to the Future. It allows the player to ride the skateboard without using the bowling balls. It has little practical use unless you want to make a challenging game more difficult, but I made a video of it since it doesn't seem to have been documented anywhere else.

Here's the way it works:

1. Get the skateboard.

2. As you approach the end of a level, move to the upper-left or upper-right corner of the screen. Make sure you are as far up on the screen as you can go.

3. Release Up before the level ends. If you miss this step, you'll end up taking damage and losing the skateboard like normal.

4. If you did everything correctly, you'll crash into the fence at the end of the level, but the end-level point tally will interrupt the animation of Marty falling off the skateboard.

At the start of the next level, Marty will still be on the skateboard, but pressing the A button will no longer fire bowling balls. The bowling ball power-up will also appear in the street at regular intervals as though you had never picked it up.
