So I recently got bored and dug through my old Pokemon savestates. While searching the deepest recesses of my C:/Stuff/Emulation/ folder, I came across the original savestates I used when playing around with the glitch Pokemon ".4". My experimentations resulted in the original "Haunted TV" video, which was uploaded to YouTube by Antithigram. You can watch it here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=99HLX3pCsP4

After some tinkering, I was able to reproduce the effects seen in that video. This video shows what happened -- oddly enough, there are a few differences between this video and the original. One of the Pokemon cries heard in the glitch mess is different, and some of the messed-up music is slightly altered. I'm not sure exactly what caused these variations, but the changes occurred because I performed this glitch using a savestate older than the one I used to make the original video.

Unfortunately, I have no idea how to produce this glitch from scratch. For this reason (and so you can laugh at the retarded nicknames I gave my Pokemon in 2004), I've uploaded a ZIP file to zShare containing the VisualBoyAdvance savestates I used to make this video and the original Haunted TV. The states and a readme.txt with information on specific files within the ZIP can be found here: http://www.zshare.net/download/14473975039cd1d8/ (this link is broken because you fuckers won't download the file)

Please note that these savestates are for Red version.

I know very little about why this glitch occurs, but the oddness with the TV only happens if get you mom to heal your Pokemon when you have more than six of them in your party. I would assume that when the game tries to heal all of these Pokemon, it ends up overwriting some unrelated data currently in the memory, like the TV's "dialogue" and the tileset for the current location. This would explain why the house appears to "break up" as I walk around. I'm not well-versed in the technical side of Pokemon, however, so I'd appreciate any detailed information someone might have on this subject.

That's all. Thanks to Antithigram for uploading the original "Haunted TV" here -- otherwise, I would've forgotten all about it.
