In this video, Marty figures that the best way to gain Young Doc's trust is to help him with with the math problem he's struggling with. Of course, he (Marty) can't do this himself, so he records Young Doc's mumblings and takes them to Old Doc, who figures it out right away. Marty then gives Young Doc the answer, and now everyone's on-board with the plan to bust Old Doc out of jail via power-drill.
