Welcome back to another demo showcase! Taking a look at Backbone today, a noir detective game where you play as Howard Lotor, a raccoon private eye who takes a case that ends up being a lot more than what he bargained for...

Visually, this game is stunning. The pixel art, animations, lighting, everything is just gorgeous to look at. The atmosphere is very well done here too, it really feels gritty and grimy. The soft jazz music really helps with this too.

As for the story, this is only a prologue of course but it's already got me hooked. I love plots that just end up unfolding into something a lot more complex than what it was at the start, and this seems really promising.

This game is set to come out this year, though I'm not sure when. You can download the Prologue on Steam (link below) and make sure to wishlist the game if you're interested, it does help the devs.
