5Battle Chef Brigade is a combination action RPG/puzzle game developed by Trinket Studios, available on the PC and Nintendo Switch and published by Adult Swim Games. The game was a successfully funded Kickstarter in 2014 and captures the frantic and frenetic action of cooking competition shows. The blend of fantasy and cooking is seamless and is what makes Battle Chef Brigade gameplay a unique combination.
This Try Play covers the first Chapter of Battle Chef Brigade's main story campaign, where we learn a lot about Mina's dreams in becoming a part of an elite line of hunter chefs whose title shares the game's name. Hunting in the game involves exploring a fairly sizeable multi-tiered area inhabited by various monsters that you can hunt for ingredients and can be repeatedly visited during a competition. The actual cooking mechanic involves puzzles that aren't your typical connect three variety. During these sequences, you will need to ensure that the combinations of blocks you create not only uphold the secret ingredient requirements of the dish, but also fulfills the flavor requirements of the judge.
