L.A. Noire is a noir-style detective adventure game developed by Team Bondi and published by Rockstar Games. It was released on May 17 2011 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, and on 8 November 2011 for Microsoft Windows. A re-release for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One was released worldwide on November 14, 2017 with improved labeling for choices and other enhancements. L.A. Noire is set in Los Angeles in 1947 and challenges players to solve a range of cases across five police divisions. Players must investigate crime scenes for clues, follow up on leads, and interrogate suspects, with the player's success at these activities impacting how much of each case's story is revealed.
This Try Play features the original PS3 version of the game and plays through all of the game's tutorial missions. L.A. Noire impressions upon us one of the rarest kinds of gaming - a period piece, set in a Los Angeles that no longer exists. And with the recent re-release on newer platforms, it's as good a time as any to revisit the mysteries that this game holds. Here's hoping a sequel's coming!
