Sorry I didn't clear every stage and boss before the end of the game. Maybe I'll go do some cleanup and voice my final thoughts on the game from now until the next game on the list. So, about the last boss...
I genuinely hate when action platform games put a bottomless pit or instant death pit in the boss arena. Sometimes it works out okay, like the ceiling spikes in underwater bosses in Mega Man games, and sometimes it's a horrible nightmare, like the pits in the final battles of Dracula X and the Prinny PSP games. The attack patterns are rough in this fight, but I eventually figured out how to deal with them, but the bottomless pits are the whole reason I had to quit out and go buy healing decrees before trying again. Thankfully the last stage isn't too hard, just the bosses. Overall, this was a fun game and I'm glad I went back to finish this campaign. Two more campaigns to go sometime in the future.

Released in 2019 as the last full campaign of the Shovel Knight Treasure Trove, King of Cards is a prequel story of King Knight on a quest to become the greatest in the land at a card game, seeing it as the best route to being truly recognized as the ruler he aspires to become. He's not the brightest bulb, but with a shoulder charge, spinning bounce, and his loyal rat subjects, he'll become a true king by his own hand, at least until Shovel Knight comes along to dethrone him in the main campaign.
