11Within Level 2, Scratchers (also referred to as the "Blind Entity" within the level) cannot visually see the player. Instead, Scratchers utilize hearing as a means to detect and eliminate players. Scratchers can hear players running from across the entire map, where the Scratcher will immediately run to the last detected location of the player. Other noises, such as walking, speaking (using Voice Chat), and whistling can also attract Scratchers. It is important to note interacting with items, including lockers, does not attract Scratchers (excluding valve interactions at the end of each hallway within Level 2). Scratchers have multiple "states" within Level 2, which are described below.
