Hey everyone! In this video, we’re exploring Patch 7 of Baldur's Gate 3 and confirming whether the methods to save Alfeera and get the Potent Robe during a Dark Urge playthrough still work. Let’s dive right in!
In Patch 7, Alfeera can still join your camp temporarily if you're playing as the Dark Urge. However, if a long rest is taken, the Dark Urge will kill her, just like in earlier patches. To prevent this, the well-known knockout trick is still available—knocking Alfeera out before resting stops her from showing up in camp.
Instead of Alfeera, Quil Grootslang will arrive. Quil can’t be recruited, just like Alfeera, and will only stay for the night. She’ll offer some personal dialogue, even singing a song, but if a long rest is taken, she will meet the same fate at the hands of the Dark Urge. Both Alfeera and Quil’s time in camp is temporary, and there's no way to keep them as permanent party members.
Now, let’s talk about the Potent Robe. If Alfeera is saved, she will later appear at the Last Light Inn, where she asks for help in rescuing the captured tieflings from Moonrise Towers. This quest remains the same in Patch 7, requiring a trip deep into the Moonrise Towers prison to free the tieflings.
There are a few ways to approach the rescue. You can use spells like Misty Step or Gaseous Form to sneak in, or use Persuasion or Deception to get past the guards. Once inside, the tieflings are held in cells, and you can choose to either fight the guards or sneak them out.
Helping Wulbren, the gnome leader, is crucial to breaking through the prison walls. He’ll need a bludgeoning weapon, such as Wulbren’s Hammer, to break them down. Once the escape is successful, the rescued tieflings and gnomes will return to the Last Light Inn.
As a reward for completing the rescue, Alfeera will give you the Potent Robe, one of the more powerful items in the game. Even in a Dark Urge playthrough, this can still be obtained, confirming that the method remains effective in Patch 7.
To recap, the knockout trick can save Alfeera temporarily, but if you want the Potent Robe, you need to keep her alive and complete the tiefling rescue quest.
