Baldur's Gate 3 boasts an array of character customization options, encompassing races, classes, subraces, and subclasses. While players who've delved into the game likely recognized this diversity, what remains obscured is how their choices align with popular trends in character creation. Thanks to recent statistical insights from Larian Studios following Baldur's Gate 3's triumphant launch, we now possess a precise understanding of the most favored selections within the Dungeons & Dragons RPG realm.
These findings were divulged through a community update, unveiling remarkable achievements such as players collectively amassing 1,225 years of gameplay. Among the races, Half-Elf stood out as the premier pick, closely pursued by Humans—an intriguing juxtaposition given the myriad alternatives. The lesser chosen options, Halfling and Githyanki, secured the final two spots, underscoring their minority status.
Regarding classes, most choices exhibited comparable popularity in the chart below. Yet, the Paladin's marked divergence from the rest was particularly noteworthy. Conversely, the Cleric emerged as an outlier on the opposite end of the spectrum, significantly lagging behind other choices. This could be attributed to Shadowheart, an early-game Cleric character among the Origin cast, potentially deterring players from rerolling her class.
Addressing Origin characters, Larian also revealed that Gale garnered the highest selection rate among those embracing the characters' narratives over crafting custom avatars. Conversely, Laezel experienced the least preference among these distinctive characters.
