PC gamers using an Epic Games Store account (which is free) can now grab Europa Universalis 4, a grand strategy simulation spanning centuries from the Renaissance to Mexican and Brazilian independence wars. This PC game is available for free until Aug. 17, along with Orwell: Keeping an Eye on You.
Europa Universalis 4, launched in 2013, has seen 20 content expansions, with the latest one being Domination on April 18. It introduced new mission trees and features for 10 nations, along with special units for armies and navies of nine other countries.
Orwell: Keeping an Eye on You, released in 2016, portrays a dystopic near-future police state reminiscent of Great Britain. Players, ostensibly working for the Nation, investigate citizens suspected of terrorism, uploading intelligence to an AI named Orwell for analysis.
Upcoming free games for Epic Games Store members include Black Book, a Slavic myth-based card RPG adventure, and Dodo Peak, a retro arcade-style platformer where a dodo saves her babies. These games will be available from Aug. 17.
Epic Games Store freebies are accessible to Epic Games Store account holders, who can add and launch the games from their library. Epic has been offering weekly free games as an incentive to join the store (and play their games like Fortnite) since its launch in December 2018.
Typically, Epic updates its free game offerings every Thursday at 11 a.m. ET/8 a.m. PT.
