iOS 17 Feature Coming to Apple Watches
At the iOS 17 launch event, Apple introduced NameDrop, a fresh addition to their features, which was subsequently included in the initial beta release.
NameDrop introduces a novel way of effortlessly exchanging contact details. Rather than sending a message to save someone's phone number, you can now achieve this by merely bringing your iPhone in proximity to theirs. This action triggers the automatic appearance of the contact-sharing interface on both devices.
When you interact with the ensuing pop-up screen, you'll be given the option to receive or share the contact information. The sharing process itself is accompanied by a captivating animation.
Interestingly, indications from the latest watchOS 10 beta version codes suggest that NameDrop functionality will also extend to interactions between watches. However, it's important to note that both devices must have undergone the watchOS 10 and iOS 17 updates to fully utilize this feature.
