PSA: Gale is a beast in later levels. Here is how Wizards can be OP in Baldur's Gate 3. This is especially true if it is a defensive position like this, where the enemies will often take themself out as they approach. This can make some vice trivial like this one in the mind flayer colony. Cloud of daggers and ice storm are both very powerful air of effect spells as well as fireball, which I didn't even have to use in this video. Fireball is my favorite of the wizard spells, but the fact they can pay gold to learn any spell is really adaptable to any situations.
