Tried fighting Eldrith in hand-to-hand and it was unpleasant, so I was wondering if there was a way to beat her with far less effort. And there was. As you can see, I pretty much only have Magic Missile and Mordenkainen's Sword, and since I was expecting to fight her in melee, I didn't carry a large stock of Extra Rejuvenation Potions. That's why I equipped an Amulet and Rings of Rejuvenation +5. Apparently you can still move even if you're overloaded, which works in my favour.

Once the battle starts, I move to her side and close the distance just a little. If you're too far, Mordenkainen's Sword won't attack her. If you're too near, she starts swinging her sword and some of her attacks aren't fully blockable. If you're far enough, she'll just keep repeating the boomerang sword throw thing, which is completely blockable. Incidentally, both Mordenkainen's Sword and Magic Missile do only half damage to her. Better than none.

Once Eldrith is down to 2/3rds of her HP, she becomes briefly invulnerable. After that, if you're in front of her, she'll fire bolts of lightning that will damage you while healing her. This doesn't seem to happen if you're far enough to the side, which is why I moved up further. Once she's down to her last 1/3rd, she hulks up one last time. This time, she summons bolts of lightning which does no damage, but they telegraph a rain of swords which can be blocked. I get nailed by one of them at 5:40 putting an end to what would have been a perfect run. Oh well.
