I found a really nice side quest that I missed first time around. The reward for taking this on is potentially the cloak and helmet of Balduran.
The Helm give you improved AC and 5 hit points on top of saving throw bonuses.
The Cloak gives you increased magic resistance, one AC and saving throws.
Both really powerful items and one of the few times being evil pays off big time.
