After talking with some guys yesterday over at Destructoid about alternatives to WipeOut on WinPC, BallisticNG came into the conversation. So I decided to revisit the game, spend a few hours with it and then record some footage.

In 2017 I gave up on the title because the controls didn't feel as good as they were in the Steam Early Access period making it almost impossible to keep a racing line let alone earn a perfect lap. Unfortunately, Ballistic NG controls still feel too loose and making adjustments to the Steam controller, trying a different controller (Elite controller) and even playing at a slower speed class (I usually race in Zen) didn't help. The game just doesn't control as well as it did before especially at high speeds.

It's a shame really because for anyone on Windows PC that wants WipeOut but could care less about PS4, Ballistic NG is your best option. You can race, compete and win but perfect lap mastery at Zen may not be in the cards though.
