over the last week, my friend mit ( https://twitter.com/mitsamemario/ ) and i came up with, worked out, and constructed in tabletop sim a board/card game using inside jokes and other things. we called it Bard Game: The Card Board Game, and we've played it exactly one time with other friends.
we plan on making multiple boards to play on, a la mario party (which bard game takes several structural cues from), but our first and only board for now is The Water Aisles, a supermarket manned by FFVIII characters where players pick up items and (hopefully) pay for them. the footage in this video is me flying around the board in 1st person checking out all the attractions and player token meeples (drawn by mit for our friends to use when we play).
for this board, i made a silly small jazz ensemble arrangement of Don't Be Afraid reharmonized to D Mixolydian with most of the melody transposed. thanks to tabletop sim's features, we were actually able to play with this as the bgm the whole time! it really lent the board the atmosphere we'd hoped it would have.
if you want to play bard game, tough luck for now! it's still in playtesting and is very incomplete. if we *ever* decide to let this game escape our friends' circle, you'll hear about it on my channel for sure, but for now... that's not really in the cards.
