I've been buying quite a few used games lately. My goal has been to track down - as cheaply as possible - various lastgen titles I thought about buying when they were new but for some reason never got around to (mostly because the reviews were not good enough to justify a full price purchase).

Knights Contract is a 2011 console-only third-person action game developed by now defunct Japanese developer Game Republic (also known for the long-forgotten PS3 exclusive Folklore, another game I'm interested in getting). A few tedious damsel-in-distress tropes notwithstanding, the two-character gameplay seems to include some interesting ideas when it comes to combining the skills of both protagonists in order to dispatch your foes effectively. The actual mechanics are more confusing than they need to be, however, and in the first few sections alone the game indulges in awkward reaction-based traversal challenges (having the player run towards the screen is never a good design decision) as well as some annoying Quick Time Events.
