I played through Fuse several years after its release, and was surprised to discover that it's actually one of the more engaging third-person shooters from the last console generation. It's doing much of the same stuff that a recent game like The Division 2 tries to pull off (minus the open world, of course), but with more satisfying squad abilities and satisfyingly crunchy combat. And the 4-person co-op focus of its design doesn't make Fuse unplayable for solo players, since the friendly AI works fine for the most part. The dialogue is awful enough that not even the mighty Jennifer Hale can salvage the terrible script, but other than that this is a thoroughly enjoyable action game.
